Helpful Siri Commands
Getting Apple’s virtual assistant's attention all you need to say is "Hey Siri" and she is ready to execute your command. Let's start with the basics. There are 2 of the Apple HomePod minis, and they act as a stereo pair.
Many of the same commands you can issue with the Amazon Echo Dot are the same for Siri, but obviously you use the trigger words “Hey Siri” instead. Try: “Hey Siri, what is the temperature in the carport” (outside under the apartment).
One of the techniques I use often is to open what I want to listen to on my iPhone, then hold the iPhone on top of the HomePod mini for a few moments… whatever was playing on the iPhone will begin playing on the HomePod. Easy.
Don't want Siri listening in during dinner (or don't want anyone else controlling the music)? Simply say "Hey Siri, stop listening" and the HomePod will mute itself. To turn voice-control back on, tap the top of the HomePod and say "Hey Siri, start listening".
