Esther's Follies

525 E Sixth Street, Austin, Texas 78701
512-320-0198  9:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST
Check the website for show times. We have loved this place for decades. It's always timely, and very funny.  If you haven't been before, sit down near the front.  So much fun.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

Alamo Village and Alamo Mueller are the closest.  Mueller is a newer theater, but we prefer the Village (better food I think). It's always a great way to see movies.  It started in Austin at 409 Colorado Street.  Now there are dozens of theaters across the USA.

violet crown austin

434 W 2nd St, Austin, TX 78701
512-495-9600
Another excellent cinema with food & drinks.  The Mediterranean plate is a good bet.

Congress Avenue Kayaks

Rent a kayak or stand up paddle board! The shop is in the bottom of the Waller Creek Boathouse. Waller Creek Boathouse is located on the Hike and Bike Trail at 74 Trinity, one block South of the Convention Center. The boathouse is within walking distance for those staying in the downtown area. Parking for the facility is located at 600 River St. (Mexican American Cultural Center) or street parking is available. No public parking is available at the boathouse.

The Ann & Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail

Everyone should do the whole trail at some point. Download a map HERE.

Capital Cruises

Hyatt Regency Boat Dock
208 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX 78704
512-480-9264
An entertaining perspective view of Austin on Lady Bird Lake and the local bat population (depending on the season).  Check the website for specific directions and parking.
