Consistently good Tex-Mex food and some of the best margaritas in Austin. Often we order the CIRO’S SPECIAL (with chicken) and SPINACH & MUSHROOM QUESADILLAS and split all of it. We generally have some to take home as well. Another favorite is the POLLA A LA PLANCHA. The Mexican martinis are pretty special too. Half of the time we just walk to Trudy’s if the weather is pleasant. Good for breakfast too, especially on the weekends when they have the taco buffet. Note: their clock is always 10 minutes fast.

A local tavern, light French menu but very good pub atmosphere. Large variety of beers and some nice wines. Very casual atmosphere. Busy in the front, but some nice quiet tables in the back. Get the smoked ahi tuna dip, just amazing. The Salad Niçoise is superb. After two times of bad service, not recommended as of 2/26/2023.

Great food. I have yet to have a meal here that I did not like. I always ask the wait person for recommendations and have been happily rewarded. We took a Brazilian friend here and she said it reminded her of home.

They have a food truck in Hyde Park too, but this location is just 4 blocks south of us at the NE corner of 31st and Speedway. “Vaquero Taquero makes breakfast and street-style tacos in Austin, Texas.
